Geez Kevin. Thanks for the support. Being emasculated by MISS WINNIPEG probably sucks even more than cutting through 2 inches of Manitoba ice-crust with your face. Yet another reason to stay on the bike...at least that way we've got half a chance.

So, you're saying the pointy end goes in the snow then? Maybe that's my problem...

I know the feeling. I've been on max effort only to be passed by 60+ folks just taking it easy with no poles!! However last weekend i had a very eye opening experience... turns out I've literally been polling with the wrong stroke... I've been skiing casually for at least 4 years (not that often) but no one noticed that. I've even had Gord B. the animal himself critique my skiing and even he didn't notice it, except that I was way faster without poles... I just couldn't figure out why! Now I know, and it's going to be a big co-ordination ajustment.... but i've already noticed a difference! it was really seeming like I just wasn't cut out for skiing (xc).
