Wish List
Not sure where I have been, but it looks like Rocky is fully committed to the 29er HT race machine. (No more 26″ HT race bikes?) They are so committed Kabush is gone from the team (maybe it’s because he kinda talks like a ventriloquist – and that is kinda creepy anyway.) The new Vertex 990 RSL is very nice – apparently the 990 is how many grams the frame weighs. Check out the latest details from Rocky here.
Any word on if this will be the new “shop bike” for 2012 James?

Geoff Kabush’s new Ride!
Found this on cyclingnews.com, the new 2011 Rocky Mountain Element.
I cant believe Rocky did away with the 3D Link! Its been a standard since the old DH Race. The new bike looks pretty sweet though.

Wrestlers, shotguns & belt buckles
Last night a few Tinker members (and even some former Tinker members), were at PoloPark theatres to catch the Leadville Trail 100 movie, Race Across the Sky.
The movie was decent, the typical canned rock anthems at the appropriate times, a few inspirational “average rider” side stories and of course, the main storyline about Lance and Dave Wiens. The movie was pretty basic, but for me, the most entertaining part of the movie was the Race Organizer. Wow! For a minute I thought I was watching a cycling jersey clad televangelist. Then I noticed the MASSIVE belt buckle and realized he was either a Kevin Kilbrei wannabe or former WWF star Macho Man Randy Savage. (OK, he is certainly no KK, but he was certainly a character.)
Overall movie rating 3 gears out of 5. OK, not great, but a decent night out on a cold January night.
Post race refreshment were enjoyed with a few others guys from the BDS club, from the local MTB scene. Conversation revolved around the seeming lack of singletrack at the Leadville, XC skiing, riding in Fernie and the coming race season. Good times.
